Leatherwork Designs

by Lucy

Are you a leather worker looking for a way to customize your handmade leather products? Or do you simply want to add a leather label with your logo to your clothing and accessories? In this article, we’ll look at two tools you can use to stamp and brand designs onto your leatherwork.

Gearheart make deep cut branding irons and leather stamps that are the perfect solution to get your logo or customized design onto your leatherwork.

Leather Stamps

If you want to imprint a logo or pattern onto leather, you can use a custom leather stamp and a mallet to engrave your favorite design.

This method is the best option if you want to “push” the imprint into the leather surface and achieve a traditional looking leather stamp.

Stamping leather with a custom leather stamp is easy, although it can be time consuming if you want to imprint your patterns onto tens of items.

Check out the following leatherwork designs made with a leather stamp and mallet if you are looking for inspiration.

Branding Irons

You can emboss on all types of leather using the “hot stamping” technique with an electric branding iron.

Leather hot stamping is recommended when you’re stamping a large quantity of items and you want to make detailed stamps each and every time.

You can create a plate for your branding iron with your existing logo or design, or use an online designer generator to help you create a new one. The possibilities are endless!

Check out what a difference a branded leather design can make to your products, adding a touch of quality, style, and authenticity.

Interchangeable Plates for Your Leatherwork Designs

Do you work with leather, but can't decide between getting a leather stamp or a branding iron? Gearheart’s branding iron plates are interchangeable with our leather stamp handles.

This means that you can get a cold stamp plate to imprint your pattern using a mallet on a hand-carved wallet or a custom-tool belt, and a different plate to emboss your logo on a leather label using the “hot stamping” technique.

And if you are looking for a high-output branding system for your leatherwork designs, our custom drill press mounted electric branding iron is the tool you need.
