Design your own branding iron right here. Start a logo from scratch, or upload a picture and convert it into a brandable design. When it looks right, order it as a custom branding iron, machined from solid brass in our shop in the USA.
How it works
- Create your design with the tool above, or send us your own artwork.
- Choose your iron: torch heated, handheld electric, drill press, SmartBrand, or a custom leather stamp.
- We machine your design into the head, then email you a photo of a proof burn to approve.
- Once you approve it, your iron ships. Standard production for standard-size irons is 3–5 business days (oversized irons can take longer); Rush production is 1 business day.
Artwork requirements
- Black design on a white or transparent background, with all color and grayscale shading removed.
- Vector files are best. Otherwise, high resolution: at least 600 dpi.
- Preferred formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, or AI/EPS saved for CS5. If you use Illustrator, outline or embed all fonts.
- You need to own the rights to the design, have written permission from the owner to use it, or it must be in the public domain. We can't make brands of sports team logos or other trademarks without the owner's written permission.
Choosing a size
Plate size is the height of your design times its width, in square inches. A 4" x 4" design is 16 in², not 4 in².
- Electric irons use a 150W heater for plates under 4 in² and a 250W heater for larger plates.
- We recommend keeping drill press iron plates under 10 in² (for example, 2" x 5" or 3" x 3"). The SmartBrand system runs plates up to 25 in².
- Anything over 9 in² counts as an XL iron. Large irons are heavy and can be harder to brand evenly, so please contact us before ordering one.
- For leather stamps used with a mallet, keep the longest side of the design to about 1.25"–1.5".

Will my brand come out reading the right way?
Yes. We make the iron as a mirror image of your design, so the mark it leaves reads correctly.
Not sure your design will brand well?
Send it to us before you order. Every iron is custom and non-refundable, so we would rather check it first.
Can I use more than one design?
Yes. Our electric irons take interchangeable heads, so you can add extra plates for new designs.
